PHA Barrier Repair Serum

Description

The brief when formulating this serum seemed simple: I wanted to create something which would make skin happier and more resilient, which could be used by anyone, at any age, with any skin condition, and in conjunction with any other skincare. 

Getting it just right wasn’t simple in the end – creating a brand new product with integrity was a lot of work, but we got there, combining Gluconolacctone (PHA), Lactobionic Acid (Bionic PHA), and Piperonyl Glucoside to make a serum which I can confidently say will hydrate, reduce inflammation, and gently exfoliate your skin – and it is is both effective and safe to use, on even the most sensitive skin.

Here’s something you won’t hear often when brands talk about product: the pH is as important, if not more so, than the percentages. Your skin is the pH of around 5.5, and for anything to penetrate it needs to be lower – but not so low that you shoot yourself in the foot (you’re probably getting the gist of why creating a product is such a delicate balancing act, right?). This serum is a pH of 4.2, meaning it’ll actually work, and all those great ingredients can do their thing.

This is how you use it: 5-7 drops, massaged onto clean skin, post-cleansing. Morning and night, if you want. Or one or the other. You can chase it with another product, or not. 

Expect a stronger barrier, more resilient skin, less redness, more bounce. Happier skin, in short. 

A note on sustainability: I cannot explain enough how difficult it is to be truly sustainable. I have always said, ‘a product is only sustainable if it actually works’. This one works, and it is fairly sustainable. I say fairly, because as an industry, we aren’t quite there yet. This is my almost perfect answer: ALL of our packaging is fully recyclable, with the glass bottle containing 35% recycled material and the box and label made from 100% recycled material.

We’ve also put it in a 100ml bottle instead of a 30 or 50 one. Two less bottles, two less lids, two less boxes. Lots more for you. Makes sense to us.
